WORSHIP IN SONG: LET THE HEAVENS REJOICE (by Don Harris & Martin Nystrom)

Chorus:  Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad, let the seas resound with a mighty roar;

Let the trees of the forest clap their hands, let the earth be filled with the glory of the Lord.

All of creation is boldly proclaiming the wonderful things He has done;

Let's join with all nations in one declaration, proclaiming the goodness of God.  (Chorus)

The heavens above are declaring His splendor, His power can not be denied; For all of creation is loudly confessing that Jesus, our Lord, is alive. (chorus)   (1993 Integrity's Hosanna! Music)

OPEN THE EYES OF MY HEART (by Paul Baloche)

Chorus:  Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, open the eyes of my heart; I want to see You, I want to see You.  Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, open the eyes of my heart; I want to see You, I want to see you.  (Repeat)

To see You high and lifted up, shining in the light of Your glory.   Pour out Your pow’r and love;

As we sing holy, holy, holy.  (Chorus)

To see You high and lifted up, shining in the light of Your glory.  Pour out Your pow’r and love;

As we sing holy, holy, holy.  High and lifted up, shining in the light of Your glory.  Pour out Your pow’r and love; As we sing holy, holy, holy.  Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy; Holy, holy, holy, I want to see You.

(1997 Integrity’s Hosanna! Music)

SHOUT TO THE LORD (by Darlene Zschech)

My Jesus, my Savior, Lord, there is none like You, all of my days I want to praise

the wonders of Your mighty love; My Comfort, my Shelter, Tower of refuge and strength;

Let ev’ry breath, all that I am, never cease to worship You.

Chorus:  Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing power and majesty, praise to the King; Mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of Your name. I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,

forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand; nothing compares to the promise I have in You.  (1993 Hillsongs Australia)

OUR SOCIAL CREED:                                    [Social Principles of the United Methodist Church 2005-2006]

     We believe in God, Creator of the world; and in Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of creation.

     We believe in the Holy Spirit, through whom we acknowledge God’s gifts, and we repent of our sin in misusing these gifts to idolatrous ends.

     We affirm the natural world as God’s handiwork and dedicate ourselves to its preservation, enhancement, and faithful use by humankind.

     We joyfully receive for ourselves and others the blessings of community, sexuality, marriage, and the family.

     We commit ourselves to the rights of men, women, children, youth, young adults, the aging, and people with disabilities; to improvement of the quality of life; and to the rights and dignity of all persons.

     We believe in the right and duty of persons to work for the glory of God and the good of themselves and others and in the protection of their welfare in so doing; in the rights to property as a trust from God, collective bargaining, and responsible consumption; and in the elimination of economic and social distress.

     We dedicate ourselves to peace throughout the world, to the rule of justice and law among nations, and to individual freedom for all people of the world.

     We believe in the present and final triumph of God’s Word in human affairs and gladly accept our commission to manifest the life of the gospel in the world.  Amen.

LORD, I LIFT YOUR NAME ON HIGH (By Rick Founds)

Lord, I lift your name on high, Lord, I love to sing Your praises;

I'm so glad You're in my life, I'm so glad You came to save us.

Chorus:  You came from heaven to earth to show the way, from the earth to the cross my debt to pay;

From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky, Lord, I lift Your name on high. (1989 Marantha! Music)

JESUS, YOUR NAME (by Morris Chapman & Claire Cloninger)

Jesus, Your name is power, Jesus, Your name is might.  Jesus, Your name will break ev’ry stronghold;

Jesus, Your name is life.

Jesus, Your name of healing, Jesus, Your name gives sight.  Jesus, Your name will free ev’ry captive;

Jesus, Your name is life.

Jesus, Your name is holy, Jesus, Your name brings light.  Jesus, Your name above ev’ry other,

Jesus, Your name is life.  (1990 Word Music, Inc.)

IN YOUR PRESENCE, O GOD (by Lynn DeShazo)

Chorus:  In Your presence, that’s where I am strong, in Your presence, O Lord, my God;

In Your presence, that’s where I belong, seeking Your face, touching Your grace,

 in the cleft of the Rock in Your presence, O God.

I want to go where the rivers cannot overflow me, where my feet are on a Rock;

I want to hide where the blazing fire cannot burn me, in Your presence, O God.

Chorus:  In Your presence, that’s where I am strong, in Your presence, O Lord, my God;

In Your presence, that’s where I belong, seeking Your face, touching Your grace,

 in the cleft of the Rock in Your presence, O God.

I want to hide where the flood of evil cannot reach me, where I’m covered by Your blood;

I want to be where the schemes of darkness cannot touch me, in Your presence, O God.

Chorus:  In Your presence, that’s where I am strong, in Your presence, O Lord, my God;

In Your presence, that’s where I belong, seeking Your face, touching Your grace,

in the cleft of the Rock in Your presence, O God.

Bridge: You are my firm foundation, I trust in You all day long; I am Your child and Your servant,

and You are my strength and my son, You’re my song.   (1995 Integrity’s Hosanna! Music)

CLOSING HYMN 577     GOD OF GRACE AND GOD OF GLORY  (by Harry Fosdick)

God of grace and God of glory, on thy people pour thy power; crown thine ancient church's story; bring her bud to glorious flower.  Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, for the facing of this hour, for the facing of this hour.

Lo! the hosts of evil round us scorn thy Christ, assail his ways!  Fears and doubts too long have bound us; free our hearts to work and praise.  Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, for the living of these days, for the living of these days.

Cure thy children's warring madness, bend our pride to thy control; shame our wanton, selfish gladness, rich in things and poor in soul.  Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, lest we miss thy kingdom's goal, lest we miss thy kingdom's goal.

Save us from weakness resignation to the evils we deplore; let the search for thy salvation be our glory evermore.  Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, serving thee whom we adore, serving thee whom we adore.  (Public Domain)
