GREETING

*PRAYER OF
CONFESSION:
Lord Jesus Christ, you are
the way of peace.
Come into the brokenness of
our lives and our land
with your healing
love.
Help us to be willing to bow
before you in true repentance,
and to bow to one
another in real forgiveness.
By the fire of your Holy
Spirit, melt our hard hearts
and consume the
pride and prejudice which separate us.
fill us, o Lord, with your perfect love, which casts out
our fear,
and bind us
together in that unity
which you share
with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

in French
English Translation: If the voice of a child can rise upward to
Thee, to draw near thee,
Listen Father, and see,
Jesus kneels before Thee in prayer.
If Thou hast chosen me to
teach others on earthy thy law, let me hear thee.
That I know how to serve, Oh
mighty King of Kings, let me hear Thee!
Through my lips, O Lord,
teach all people how to love and honor Thee,
That all those who doubt
with humbleness of heart may revere thee!
Abandon not thy child but
endow me with love and with kindness
That I may
comfort their pain and heal their despair and blindness.
Reveal Thyself
to me for I have faith in Thee.
For You I will suffer and die
on the cross of Calvary.

HOLY COMMUNION AND ANOINTING FOR HEALING
The congregation is invited to receive Communion at the
Communion rails. Come forward when you are ready, and receive the
Communion elements with joy. These symbols represent the Body and Blood
of Jesus offered for our forgiveness and new life. The invitation to receive
comes from Jesus himself, and is not based on membership in this or any other
Church. While you are waiting for your place at the Communion rail, take
advantage of this quiet time to meditate, and offer your personal prayer and
praise to God.
During the Sacrament of Communion anyone who wishes to do so is
encouraged to come to the Communion rail set aside for anointing
with oil and prayer. This is for the healing of
our human hurts in obedience to the instruction in James 5:14-16. The oil
represents the Holy Spirit. Your coming forward represents your faith and
submission to the will of God. All needs may be brought into the presence of
God ~ needs for physical, emotional, or spiritual healing, as well as
intercession for the needs of others.

A NOTE TO PARENTS
We love children and your little ones are welcome in
our worship service. On those days when
your child is fussy, the parlor located behind the sanctuary provides an
excellent place to care for your child and still participate in the worship
service.
Child care is provided for infants and children up to
2 years old in the Education Building during Sunday school and worship
hours.
