NOVEMBER 4, 2007                  ALL SAINT’S SUNDAY                                                             9:30 A.M. SERVICE

We welcome you to this service of praise and adoration.   Let God speak to you through the songs and the message, and enjoy the fellowship of those who are seeking the Lord and the spiritual help that we need for daily living.

WELCOME

WORSHIP IN SONG:  SING WITH ALL THE SAINTS IN GLORY  (by Wm. Irons)

Sing with all the saints in glory, sing the resurrection song!  Death and sorrow, earth's dark story,

to the former days belong.  All around the clouds are breaking, soon the storms of time shall cease;

in God's likeness we, awaking, know the everlasting peace.

O what glory, far exceeding all that eye has yet perceived!  Holiest hearts, for ages pleading,

never that full joy conceived.  God has promised, Christ prepares it, there on high our welcome waits.

Every humble spirit shares it; Christ has passed th'eternal gates.

Life eternal! heaven rejoices: Jesus lives, who once was dead.  Join we now the deathless voices; child of God, lift up your head!  Patriarchs from the distant ages, saints all longing for their heaven, prophets, psalmists, seers, and sages, all await the glory given.   (Public Domain)

TAKE MY LIFE (by Scott Underwood)

Holiness, holiness is what I long for.  Holiness is what I need.  Holiness, holiness is what You want from me.

Faithfulness, faithfulness is what I long for. Faithfulness is what I need.

Faithfulness, faithfulness is what You want from me.

So take my heart; conform it. Take my mind; transform it.  Take my will; conform it to Yours,

to Yours, oh Lord.

Righteousness, righteousness is what I long for.  Righteousness is what I need.

Righteousness, righteousness is what You want from me. So take my heart; conform it. Take my mind; transform it.  Take my will; conform it to Yours, to Yours, oh Lord.

Oh, so take my heart; conform it.  Take my mind; transform it.  Take my will; conform it to Yours,

to Yours, oh Lord, to Yours, to Yours, oh Lord.  Yes, take my heart; conform it.  Take my mind; transform it.  Take my will; conform it to Yours, to Yours, oh Lord, to Yours, to Yours, oh Lord, to Yours, to Yours, oh Lord, to Yours, to Yours, oh Lord.  (1995 Mercy/Vineyard Publishing)

YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER  (by Vicky Beeching)

Everlasting God, the years go by, but You’re unchanging.

In this fragile world, You are the only firm foundation.

Chorus:  Always loving, always true, always merciful and good, so good.  Yesterday, today, and forever.

You are the same, You never change.  Yesterday, today, and forever; You are faithful, and we will trust in You.  We will trust in You.

Uncreated One, You have no end and no beginning, earthly powers fade, but there is no end to Your kingdom.

Chorus:  Always loving, always true, always merciful and good, so good.  Yesterday, today, and forever.

You are the same, You never change.  Yesterday, today, and forever; You are faithful, and we will trust in You.  We will trust in You.  We will trust in You.   (2002 Thankyou Music)

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION:  (From Matthew 22)

Eternal God,

your patient love is like a mighty glacier,

slowly pushing aside all that stands before it.

Be patient with us As we learn to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.

For we carry deep wounds and ugly scars

from offering love to those who would hurt us.

Nurture us in your healing love, that we may be known as a people

whose love for others knows no bounds, and whose fear holds no sway,

Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

O LORD, THOU ART MY GOD (by Tony Hopkins)

O Lord You are my God; O Lord I will exalt you.  I will praise your name,

I will praise your name for you have done wonderful things.  (1974 Scripture in Song)

PRECIOUS LORD, TAKE MY HAND  (by Thomas Dorsey)

Precious Lord, take my hand, lead me on, let me stand,

I am tired, I am weak, I am worn; through the storm,

through the night, lead me on to the light: Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.

When my way grows drear,  precious Lord, linger near,

when my life is almost gone, hear my cry, hear my call,

hold my hand lest I fall:  Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.

When the darkness appears and the night draws near, and the

day is past and gone, at the river I stand, guide my feet,

hold my hand: Take my hand,  precious Lord, lead me home.  (Public Domain)

TAKE OUR BREAD (by Joe Wise)

Refrain:  Take our bread, we ask you; take our hearts, we love you.

Take our lives, O Father, we are yours, we are yours.

Yours as we stand at the table you set; yours as we eat the bread our hearts can't forget.

We are the sign of your life with us yet, we are yours, we are yours.  (repeat refrain)

Your holy people standing washed in your blood, Spirit filled yet hungry we await your food.

We are poor, but we've brought ourselves the best we could; we are yours, we are yours.  (repeat refrain)

(1966 Joe Wise, GIA Pub., Inc)

SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION - The congregation is invited to receive Communion at the Communion rails.  Come forward when you are ready, and receive the Communion elements with joy.

These symbols represent the Body and Blood of Jesus offered for our forgiveness and new life.  The invitation to receive comes from Jesus himself, and is not based on membership in this or any other Church.  While you are waiting for your place at the Communion rail, take advantage of this quiet time to meditate, and offer your personal prayer and praise to God.

For those members with grape juice allergies, whole grapes are available.

CLOSING HYMN 399   TAKE MY LIFE, AND LET IT BE  (By Frances Havergal)

Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee.

Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of thy love.

Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for thee.

Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.

Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from thee.

Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.

Take my intellect, and use every power as thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it thine; it shall be no longer mine.

Take my heart, it is thine own; it shall be thy royal throne.

Take my love, my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure store.

Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for thee.   (Public Domain)
