Out of the depths of our sins, we cry to you.

    Come and redeem us.

Open your ears and hear our voices.

With reverence, we await forgiveness.

We watch for your Word, and hope in your love.

WORSHIP IN SONG:  BEAUTIFUL ONE  (by Tim Hughes)

Wonderful, so wonderful is Your unfailing love, Your cross has spoken mercy over me.

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, No heart could fully know How glorious, how beautiful You are.

(Chorus)  Beautiful One I love, Beautiful One I adore, Beautiful One my soul must sing.

Powerful, so powerful, your glory fills the skies Your mighty works displayed for all to see.

The beauty of Your majesty awakes my heart to sing: How marvelous, how wonderful You are.

(Chorus – 2 x’s)

You opened my eyes to Your wonders anew, You captured my heart with this love

cause nothing on earth is as beautiful as You (repeat)    (Chorus)

My soul, my soul must sing.  My soul, my soul must sing.

My soul, my soul must sing.  Beautiful One. (Repeat)     (Chorus – 2x’s)                             (1992 Thankyou Music)

Down in my heart, down in my heart, Down in my heart to stay, Down in my heart to stay.

2.  I got the Love . . .

JOYFUL, JOYFUL, WE ADORE THEE  (by Henry Van Dyke)   VERSES 1 & 4

Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of love;

hearts unfold like flowers before thee, opening to the sun above.

Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away.

Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day!

Mortals, join the mighty chorus which the morning stars began;

love divine is reigning o'er us, binding all within its span.

Ever singing, march we onward,  victors in the midst of strife;

joyful music leads us sunward, in the triumph song of life.    (Public Domain)

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION:  Forgive us, O God, when we stumble in the darkness and turn away from your face.  Strengthen us to walk in your brightness and live in your ways.  Enlighten the shadows that keep us from growing in your love and light.  Shower us with your grace, that we might shine as your people upon this earth.  Amen.

BE MAGNIFIED (by Lynn DeShazo)

I have made you too small in my eyes O Lord, forgive me; And I have believed in a lie

that You were unable to help me.  But now, O Lord, I see my wrong, heal my heart and show Yourself strong; and in my eyes and with my song, O Lord, be magnified, O Lord, be magnified.

Chorus:  Be magnified, O Lord, You are highly exalted; And there is nothing You can't do,

O Lord, my eyes are on You. Be magnified, O Lord, be magnified.

I have leaned on the wisdom of men, O Lord, forgive me; And I have responded to them instead of Your light and Your mercy.  But now, O Lord, I see my wrong, heal my heart and show Yourself strong;

and in my eyes and with my song, O Lord, be magnified, O Lord, be magnified.  (chorus)

(1992 Integrity's Hosanna! Music)

SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD  (by Daniel Iverson)

Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.

Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me. Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. (1963 BMW Songs, Inc.)

SURELY THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD (By Lanny Wolfe)

Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place; I can feel his mighty power and his grace.

I can hear the brush of angel's wings, I see glory on each face; surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.      (1977 Lanny Wolfe Music)

                                                                     On Forgiving Ourselves…

SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION - The congregation is invited to receive Communion at the              Communion rails.  Come forward when you are ready, and receive the Communion elements with joy.

These symbols represent the Body and Blood of Jesus offered for our forgiveness and new life.  The invitation to receive comes from Jesus himself, and is not based on membership in this or any other Church.  While you are waiting for your place at the Communion rail, take advantage of this quiet time to meditate, and offer your personal prayer and praise to God.  If you are unable to come forward, let an usher know, and the Elements will be brought to you.   For those members with grape juice allergies, whole grapes are available.

CLOSING HYMN  IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL (by Horatio Spafford)

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll;

whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul.

Refrain:  It is well with my soul, it is well, it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blest assurance control,

that Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and hath shed his own blood for my soul.  (Refrain)

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole,

is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!  (Refrain)

And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;

the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, even so, it is well with my soul.  (Refrain)
