WORSHIP IN SONG:  AWAKE, O ISRAEL (by Merla Watson)

Awake, O Israel, put off thy slumber and the truth shall set you free;

For out of Zion comes thy Deliverer, in the year of jubilee.

O, hallelujah, O, hallelujah, hallelujah, praise the Lord! (repeat)

For in the furnace of much affliction, I have chosen thee; Behold, and so for iron I'll give thee silver and for brass I'll give thee gold.  O, hallelujah, O, hallelujah, hallelujah, praise the Lord! (repeat)

Thou art My chosen, for I have sought thee, thou are graven on My hand;

And I will gather all those that gather, they shall come back to their land.

O, hallelujah, O, hallelujah, hallelujah, praise the Lord!  (repeat)  (1974 Catacombs Productions, Ltd.)

LET ALL THE WORLD SING PRAISES (by Chris Falson)

If we keep silent the rocks will cry out, blessed be the King.  And if we don’t praise Him the earth will shout: Blessed be the King.  Sing hallelujah, (hallelujah) sing hallelujah, (hallelujah)

let all the world sing praises to the King.  Sing hallelujah, sing hallelujah,

let all the world sing praises to the King.

We call Him Father, we trust in Him, blessed be the King.  And we are His children,

we worship Him, Blessed be the King.  Sing hallelujah, (hallelujah) sing hallelujah,

let all the world sing praises to the King.

Sing hallelujah, sing hallelujah, let all the world sing praises to the King.  (1996 Marantha! Music)

BLESSING AND GLORY (by Eugene Greco)

Chorus:  Blessing and glory, honor and pow'r be unto the King of kings,

Blessing and glory, honor and pow'r be unto the King of kings. (repeat)

Strong and mighty in battle, You are the King of kings. We open up our gates so You may come in.

Blessing and glory, honor and pow'r be unto the King of kings, Blessing and glory, honor and pow'r

be unto the King of kings, unto the King of kings. (chorus)

Reigning over the nations, You are the King of kings, Lifting up our voice Your praises we sing.

Blessing and glory, honor and pow'r be unto the King of kings, Blessing and glory, honor and pow'r

be unto the King of kings, unto the King of kings. (chorus)    (1990 Integrity's Hosanna! Music)

*OPENING PRAYER

Almighty God, you sent your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, to suffer death on the cross.

Grant that we may share in his obedience to your will and in the glorious victory of his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

One God, now and ever.  Amen.

HOSANNA, LOUD HOSANNA (by Jeanette Threlfall)

Hosanna, loud hosanna, the little children sang; through pillared court and temple

the lovely anthem rang.  To Jesus, who had blessed them close folded to his breast,

the children sang their praises, the simplest and the best.

From Olivet they followed mid an exultant crowd, the victor palm branch waving,

and chanting clear and loud.  The Lord of earth and heaven rode on in lowly state,

nor scorned that little children should on his bidding wait.

"Hosanna in the highest!"  that ancient song we sing, for Christ is our Redeemer,

the Lord of heaven our King.  O may we ever praise him with heart and life and voice,

and in his blissful presence eternally rejoice!        (Public Domain)

LIFT UP YOUR HEADS  (by Steven L. Fry)

Lift up your heads to the coming King. Bow before Him and adore Him, sing.

To His Majesty let your praises be pure and holy, giving glory to the King of kings.  (1974 Birdwing Music)

HOSANNA   (by Carl Tuttle)

Hosanna, hosanna, Hosanna in the highest; Hosanna, hosanna, Hosanna in the highest.

Lord, we lift up Your name, With hearts full of praise; Be exalted, O Lord my God,

Hosanna in the highest.

Glory, glory, Glory to the King of kings; Glory, glory, Glory to the King of kings.

Lord, we lift up Your name, With hearts full of praise; Be exalted, O Lord my God,

Hosanna in the highest.    (1985 Mercy Publishing)

BRINGING OUR NEEDS TO GOD (Prayers of the People)

PRAYER RESPONSE:  GLORY TO THE LAMB (By Larry Dempsey)

Glory, glory, glory to the Lamb. Glory, glory, glory to the Lamb.

For He is glorious and worthy to be praised, the Lamb upon the throne;

and unto Him we lift our voice in praise, the Lamb upon the throne.  (1983 Zionsong Music)

CLOSING HYMN 279 AND DISTRIBUTION OF PALMS

FILLED WITH EXCITEMENT  (MANTOS Y PALMAS)   (by Ruben Avila)

Filled with excitement, all the happy throng spread cloaks and branches on the city streets.

There in the distance they begin to see, riding on a donkey, comes the Son of God.

Refrain: From every corner a thousand voices sing praises to him who comes in the name of God.

With one great shout of acclamation loud triumphant song breaks forth:

"Hosanna, hosanna to the King! Hosanna, hosanna to the King!"

As in that entrance to Jerusalem, we sing hosannas to the Christ, our King,

to the living Savior who still calls today, asking us to follow him with love and faith. (repeat refrain)
