WORSHIP IN SONG:  ALMIGHTY GOD (Tim Hughes)

The rising sun that fills the sky, the starry host that lights the night, reflecting your glory.  The mountain heights, forever stand, the rain that falls to soak the land respond to your glory.  Almighty God in ev’ry way You are above and beyond understanding; if we did not praise, the rocks would cry out, Glorious God, high above understanding.  Yeah.

The vast expanse of earth and sea, held by You in harmony, speaks of Your glory all You’ve made, since time began.  Life itself; Your perfect plan, and its all for Your glory.  Almighty God in ev’ry way You are above and beyond understanding; if we did not praise, the rocks would cry out, Glorious God, high above understanding.

Creation joins as one to sing “Glorious God,” so far above all earthly things.  Almighty God, in ev’ry way, you are above and beyond understanding; if we did not praise the rocks would cry out, Glorious God, high above understanding.  Almighty God in ev’ry way, You are above and beyond understanding; if we did not praise the rocks would cry out Glorious God, high above understanding.  Yes Lord.  (2005 ThankYou Music)

HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING (by Tomlin, Redman, Cash)

There is an endless song, echoes in my soul, I hear the music ring.

And though the storms may come, I am holding on, to the rock I cling.

How can I keep from singing your praise?  How can I ever say enough, how amazing is your love?

How can I keep from shouting your name?  I know I am loved by the King, and it makes my heart want to sing.

I will lift my eyes in the darkest night, for I know my Savior lives.

And I will walk with you knowing you see me through, and sing the songs you give.

How can I keep from singing your praise?  How can I ever say enough, how amazing is your love?

How can I keep from shouting your name?  I know I am loved by the King, and it makes my heart want to sing.  I can sing in the troubled times.  Sing when I win I can sing when I lose my step and I fall down again.

I can sing ‘cause you pick me up sing ‘cause you’re there.  I can sing ‘cause you hear me, Lord, when I call to you in prayer I can sing with my last breath sing for I know that I’ll sing with the angels and the saints around the throne.  How can I keep from singing your praise?   How can I ever say enough, how amazing is your love?  How can I keep from shouting your name?  I know I am loved by the King, and it makes my heart I am loved by the King, and it makes my heart I am loved by the King, and it makes my heart want to sing.  ( 2006 Sixsteps Music)

SHINE, JESUS, SHINE (by Graham Kendrick)

Lord, the light of Your love is shining in the midst of the darkness shining; Jesus, Light of the World,

shine upon us, set us free by the truth You now bring us, Shine on me, shine on me.

Chorus:  Shine, Jesus, shine fill this land with the Father's glory;Blaze Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire.  Flow, river, flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy; Send forth Your word, Lord, and let there be light.

Lord, I come to Your awesome presence, From the shadows into Your radiance; By the blood I may enter Your brightness, search me, try me, consume all my darkness, Shine on me, shine on me. (repeat chorus)

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness, So our faces display Your likeness; Ever changing from glory to glory, Mirror'd here may our lives tell Your story, Shine on me, shine on me. (repeat chorus)

*PRAYER FOR MUSICIANS

  Sung Response: Praise the Lord, ye saints and sing; all the powers of music bring.

  Pastor:  Make a joyful noise to the Lord.  Serve the Lord with gladness!

              Come into God’s presence with singing!

  All:  O God, who inspired David the King both to write songs and appoint singers to your worship: give           grace to the singers in your Church, that with psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs we may sing           and make music to the glory of your Name.  We pray that our lives, like our worship, may become            an unending doxology, giving you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, all glory and honor.

  Sung Response: Praise the Lord, ye saints and sing; all the powers of music bring.

  All:   We ask you to lead us to the heavenly kingdom where we shall sing your praises in the company of            the saints.

  Pastor: O God, whom saints and angels delight to worship in heaven, be ever present with your servants who                seek through music to perfect the praises offered by your people on earth; and grant them even now                    glimpses of your beauty, and make them worthy at length to behold it unveiled for evermore; through                 Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

  All:    Let every instrument be tuned for praise!  Let all rejoice who have a voice to raise!

            And may God give us faith to sing always:  Alleluia!

  Sung Response: Praise the Lord, ye saints and sing; all the powers of music bring

JESUS MY LORD, MY GOD, MY ALL (by Brett Williams & billy Batstone)

Jesus, my Lord, my God, my all, hear me, blest Savior, when I call.

Hear me, and from Your dwelling place pour down the riches of Your grace.

Jesus, too late I You have sought; how can I love You as I ought?

And how extol Your matchless fame, the glorious beauty of Your name?

Chorus: Oh, Jesus, my Lord, it’s You I adore.  Oh, make me love You, oh, make me love You,

oh, make me love You more.

Jesus, what did You find in me that You have dealt so lovingly?

How great the joy that You have brought, so far exceeding hope or thought! (chorus)  (2000 Doulos Pub.)

INTO YOUR COURTS (by Gerrit Gustafson)

Into Your courts we come, deep in our hearts we long to be near to the throne of Your glory;

As we draw near to You, know that we’re here to do Your will, God how we long to be near to You.

Chorus: May our prayers be like incense rising up to Your throne, may our songs be a fragrance unto You; may our lives be as pleasing off’rings in all that we do, God how we long to be near to You.

God how we long to be near to You.  (1991 Intregrity’s Hosanna! Music)

CLOSING HYMN 545 THE CHURCH'S ONE FOUNDATION

The church's one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord; she is his new creation by water and the Word.

From heaven he came and sought her to be his holy bride; with his own blood he bought her,

and for her life he died.

Elect from every nation, yet one o'er all the earth; her charter of salvation, one Lord, one faith, one birth;

one holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food, and to one hope she presses, with every grace endued.

Though with a scornful wonder we see her sore oppressed, by schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed,

yet saints their watch are keeping; their cry goes up, "How long?" And soon the night of weeping shall be the morn of song.

Mid toil and tribulation, and tumult of her war, she waits the consummation of peace for ever more;

til, with the vision glorious, her longing eyes are blest, and the great church victorious shall be the church at rest.

Yet she on earth hath union with God the Three in One, and mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won.  O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with thee.   (Public Domain)
