WORSHIP IN SONG:  DAYS OF ELIJAH   (by Robin Mark)

These are the days of Elijah, declaring the Word of the Lord; And these are the days of Your servant, Moses, righteousness being restored; And though these are days of great trials, of famine and darkness and sword;

Still we are the voice in the desert crying, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord.”

Chorus:  Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun at the trumpet call;

so lift your voice, it’s the year of Jubilee, and out of Zion’s hill salvation comes.

And these are the days of Ezekiel, the dry bones becoming as flesh; and these are the days of Your servant, David, rebuilding a temple of praise; and these are the days of the harvest, the fields are white in the world;

and we are Your laborers in Your vineyard, declaring the Word of the Lord.  (Chorus)   (1996 Daybreak Music Ltd.)

TRADING MY SORROWS (Darrell Evans)

I’m trading my sorrows. I’m trading my shame. I’m laying them down for the joy of the Lord.

I’m trading my sickness.  I’m trading my pain.  I’m laying them down for the joy of the Lord.

Yes, Lord, yes, Lord, yes, yes, Lord.  Yes, Lord, yes, Lord, yes, yes, Lord.

Yes, Lord, yes, Lord, yes, yes, Lord.  Amen

I am pressed but not crushed, persecuted not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed.

I am blessed beyond the curse, for His promise will endure, that His joy’s gonna be my strength.

Though the sorrow may last for the night, His joy comes in the morning.    (1988 Integrity’s Hosanna!)

YOU ARE HOLY (PRINCE OF PEACE)  (Marc Imboden, Tammi Rhoton)

Men:       You are holy, You are mighty, You are worthy, Worthy of praise.

I will follow, I will listen, I will love You all of my days.

Women: You are holy,  You are mighty,  You are worthy,  Worthy of praise.

I will follow, I will listen, I will love You all of my days.

Chorus:  I will sing to and worship the King who is worthy.  I will love and adore Him, I will bow down before Him.  I will sing to and worship the King who is worthy.  I will love and adore Him, I will bow down before Him.  You’re my Prince of Peace and I will live my life for You. (1994 Music Services)

*OPENING PRAYER                                                                                                                                    Jeff Young

God, there is so much in the world to be happy about, yet sometimes all we can see are the things that depress us.  Anger is a choice.  Sadness is a choice.  Help us choose joy.  You are the Creator of joy, God.  From the moment of creation, you said it was all good.  Let us find the good in all things.  Let us see the joy in children and follow their example.  Let us see the beautiful leaves of the tree and not the dark, hard trunk.  Let us hear the music on the radio and not focus on the miles we have left to drive.  Turn us around, God.  Pick us up and spin us like you did Paul.  We are blind, now.  Let us see the joy that exists in every living thing.  Let us see the joy that surrounds us and follows us and lives in us.  Amen                (Steven L. Case – The Book of Uncommon Prayer, II)

MY HOPE IS BUILT (by Edward Mote)

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness.

I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name.

When darkness veils his lovely face, I rest on his unchanging grace.

In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil. (repeat refrain)

Refrain:  On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand; all other ground is sinking sand.

When he shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in him be found!

Dressed in his righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne. (refrain)   (Public Domain)

SEEK YE FIRST  (by Karen Lafferty)

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,

and all these things shall be added unto you Hallelu, halleluia!

Ask and it shall be given unto you; Seek and ye shall find;

Knock, and the door shall be opened unto you.  Hallelu, halleluia!

Chorus: Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!  Hallelujah! Hallelu, hallelujah!

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works

and glorify your Father in heaven, Hallelu, hallelujah!

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, He shall direct thy paths,

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, Hallelu, hallelujah!

Chorus: Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!  Hallelujah! Hallelu, hallelujah!    (Maranatha Music)

IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL (by Horatio Spafford)

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll;

whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blest assurance control,

that Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and hath shed his own blood for my soul.

Refrain:  It is well with my soul, it is well, it is well with my soul.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole,

is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!  (refrain)

And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;

the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, even so, it is well with my soul.  (refrain)

I COULD SING UNENDING SONGS (The Happy Song)   (by Martin Smith)

(Oh,) I could sing unending songs of how You saved my soul.

Well, I could dance a thousand miles because of Your great love.

My heart is bursting, Lord, to tell of all You’ve done.

Of how You changed my life and wiped away the past.  I wanna shout it out, from ev’ry roof top sing.

For now I know that God is for me, not against me.

Ev’rybody’s singing now, ‘cause we’re so happy!  Ev’rybody’s dancing now, ‘cause we’re so happy!

If only we could see Your face and see You smiling over us and unseen angels celebrate, for joy is in this place!  (1994 Curious? Music)
