WORSHIP IN SONG: COME, NOW
IS THE TIME TO WORSHIP (by Brian Doerksen)
Come, now is the time to worship; Come, now is the time to give your heart.
Come, just as you are to worship; Come, just as you are
before your God . . . Come.
One day ev’ry tongue will confess You are God, one day ev’ry knee will bow;
Still, the greatest treasure remains for those who gladly
choose You now.

CELEBRATE JESUS
(by Gary Oliver)
Celebrate Jesus, celebrate. Celebrate Jesus, celebrate. Celebrate Jesus, celebrate.
He is risen, He is risen, and He lives forevermore. He is risen, He is risen;
come on and celebrate the resurrection
of our Lord. (1988 Integrity's Hosanna! Music)
JESUS MESSIAH (Chris Tomlin)
He became sin, who knew no sin; that we might become His righteousness;
He humbled Himself, and carried the cross. Love so amazing, love so amazing.
Chorus: Jesus, Messiah; Name above all names; Blessed Redeemer; Emmanuel.
The Rescue for sinners, the Ransom from heaven; Jesus, Messiah, Lord of all.
His body the bread, His blood the wine broken and poured out, all for love.
The whole earth trembled, and the veil was torn. Love so amazing, love so amazing. (Chorus)
All our hope is in You, all our
hope is in You; all the glory to You, God, the Light of the word. (Repeat)
(Chorus) (2008 sixsteps Music)
*OPENING PRAYER
THY WORD IS A LAMP (by Amy Grant)
(refrain) Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
When I feel afraid think I've lost my way, still you're there right beside me,
and nothing will I fear as long as
you are near. Please be near me to the end. (repeat
refrain)
Now I will not forget your love for me and yet my heart for ever is wandering.
Jesus, be my guide and hold me to your side, and I will love
you to the end. (repeat
refrain)
(1984 Meadowgreen
Music)
TRUST AND OBEY (By
John Sammis)
When we walk with the Lord in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will, he abides with us still, and with all who
will trust and obey.
Refrain: Trust and obey, for there's no other way to
be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss, not a frown
or a cross, but is blest if we trust and obey.
(refrain)
But we never can prove the delights of his love until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows, for the joy
he bestows, are for them who will trust and obey. (refrain)
Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at his feet, or we'll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do, where he
sends we will go; never fear, only trust and obey. (refrain)(Public Domain)
BRINGING OUR NEEDS TO GOD (Prayers of the People)
PRAYER RESPONSE: LEAD
ME, LORD Psalm 5:8, 4:8
Lead me, Lord, lead me in thy righteousness; make thy way plain before my face.
For it is thou, Lord, thou Lord only, that makest me dwell in safety.

A Covenant for Church Educators
PASTOR: As the body of Christ we gather on Sunday mornings, on Wednesday
nights, and in many other small groups during the week to praise God and to
learn together what it means to be the people of God. Today we pause for a moment to celebrate
those among us who are our teachers. Our
prayer is…
PEOPLE: Thanks be to God for our Christian teachers!
PASTOR: Many of our teachers teach children – children who need adults who love them and care for them; teachers who tell them the stories of the faith; teachers who help them learn to live as Jesus taught. In appreciation for those who teach our children, we offer our prayer…
PEOPLE: Thanks be to God for our Christian teachers!
PASTOR: Our youth deserve the best that we have to offer. Because of those who teach them, our youth
have a welcoming place to grow in Christian love and fellowship and a safe
place to explore what the church teaches, ask their questions, express their
doubts, and discover their own Christian faith.
For the teachers of our youth our prayer is…
PEOPLE: Thanks be to God for our Christian teachers!
PASTOR: Some of us are
adults. Adults need friends in faith –
teachers who will help us study diligently, grow spiritually, and discover ways
to use our gifts in our congregation and in our world. For the teachers of our
adults we pray…
PEOPLE: Thanks be to God for our Christian teachers!
PASTOR: We are all the Body of
Christ – at many ages. Our teachers help
us experience Christian community as we study and learn together. Today we give thanks for all those who help
us understand what it means to be God’s children, youth, and adults. We give thanks for those who support us in
our faith journeys and challenge us to follow Jesus Christ more
faithfully. For the sake of our
community of faith, growing and learning together, we pray…
PEOPLE: Thanks be to God for our Christian teachers!
PASTOR: Yes, we give thanks today
for these spiritual leaders who help us develop the knowledge and skills we
need to live as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ in the world. Our continuing prayer is…
PEOPLE: Thanks be to God for our Christian teachers!
PASTOR: Let us pray
Gracious and loving God, our teachers have helped us make each small group
experience in our church a time to grow together in our love for one another,
for you, and for all your world. Through them we continually find new ways to
experience the joys of being a community of faith. Help us honor our teachers by living in ways
that honor what we have learned from those you have called to lead us. Through them we have experienced your
transforming power that enables us to live as your people in changing world. Hear our special prayer today…

CLOSING SONG I LOVE THY KINGDOM, LORD (by Timothy Dwight)
I love thy kingdom, Lord, the house of thine abode,
the church our blest Redeemer saved with his own precious blood.
I love thy church, O God! Her walls before thee stand dear as the apple of thine eye, and graven on thy hand.
For her my tears shall fall, for her my prayers ascend, to her my cares and toils be given,
till toils and cares shall end.
Beyond my highest joy I prize her heavenly ways, her sweet communion, solemn vows,
her hymns of love and praise.
Sure as thy truth shall last, to Zion shall be given the brightest glories earth can yield,
and brighter bliss of heaven. (Public Domain)
