Heart to Heart
Heart to Heart ministry is a new volunteer ministry within our church that is attempting to address the various needs of our congregation, so that all might feel well cared for and loved by our faith community. Our goal is to coordinate the caring ministries that are already functioning at 1st Church, such as Stephen Ministry, Martha’s Hands, Parish Nurse Ministry, Special Needs Task Force, Outreach and our Prayer Ministry, so that everyone’s needs can be met in a more comprehensive way, and no one will “fall through the cracks” with a need overlooked.
Heart to Heart volunteers are trained and equipped in the following areas:
- Hospital. Rehab and home visitation
- Taking communion to the homebound
- Making caring phone calls
- Sending cards or notes
- Cooking a meal for Martha’s Hands
- Knitting a prayer shawl or lap robe
- Transporting someone to church
It is our heartfelt prayer that as we learn to care for each other’s needs, the agape love of Jesus will flourish in our faith community, and God will be honored.
