Lead Pastor, Rev. Dr. Gina Hendrickson
Associate Pastor, Rev. Jessica M. Campbell
First United Methodist Church of Moorestown (FUMC) is delighted to announce new pastoral leadership. The Rev. Dr. Gina Hendrickson and the Rev. Jessica M. Campbell will formally assume their roles as Lead and Associate Pastors beginning July 1, 2021.
Their arrival coincides with newly relaxed COVID restrictions, which has allowed FUMC to revive many traditions that have been on hold for over a year. After a year of unexpected, tumultuous change, this transition will be met with much joy at the church. The pastors will preside over their first services at the church on Sunday, July 4 at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.
The community is invited to a casual, outdoor service on Sunday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. to welcome the two new pastors. A coffee reception will follow; visitors are asked to bring folding chairs. The Rev. Dr. Gina Hendrickson will become the first woman appointed as Lead Pastor at FUMC, which was incorporated in Moorestown in 1815. She is completing her seventh year as Northern Shore District Superintendent, having served four years as Dean of the Cabinet. Previously she served as Senior Pastor at St. Andrew’s of Cherry Hill, Summit, Associate Pastor of St. Peter’s Ocean City, and Pastor of St. Paul’s
New Gretna and Oceanville.
Rev. Dr. Hendrickson has a DMIN from Drew University and MDIV from Bangor Seminary. She has a passion to work collaboratively with other disciples of Christ to further the ministry of the church.
“My job is to passionately, relentlessly pursue that whom God dreams and desires for me as a pastor and the First UMC of Moorestown to be for a hurting and needy world. I am blessed to keep finding ways to grow and learn and become something more, something greater for God as we serve the community of Moorestown and beyond in love, hope and justice.”
The Rev. Dr. Gina Hendrickson and her husband the Rev. Dr. Rich Hendrickson, who serves as pastor at St. Paul’s in Ocean Grove, have two adult daughters and one granddaughter.
FUMC’s new Associate Pastor is the Rev. Jessica M. Campbell. The Princeton Seminary graduate holds a B.S. from Eastern Michigan University and is an ordained elder in the Methodist Church’s Greater New Jersey Conference. She currently serves on the Board of Ordained Ministry and was previously a delegate to the World Methodist Conference and The World Methodist Council.
Her most recent pastoral appointment was at Hamilton United Methodist Church (Neptune, NJ). Prior to that she served at Franklin Lakes UMC (NJ), Thiells UMC (NY), and Round Valley UMC in Lebanon, NJ. She is eager to assume her responsibilities at FUMC.
“”I have always felt called to deeply love and care for God’s people. Having the opportunity to live out this calling in a community like Moorestown is something that my three kids and I are really excited about. I am looking forward to what God is doing in the church and the community and how I can be a part of it all!”
Rev. Campbell’s professional passions include creative worship, cultivating relationships within and beyond the church walls, and Ecumenical and Interfaith justice/mission work. She has three sons, ages 18, 15, and 12.
Members of FUMC’s congregation are eager to work with both pastors to build new programs and relationships and amplify the church’s ongoing activities and outreach.
