The First United Methodist Church of Moorestown (FUMC) is pleased to announce that the congregation has approved becoming a “Reconciling Congregation” and has joined the Reconciling Ministry Network (RMN), following a 15-month period of discernment. RMN is a national organization of United Methodist individuals, churches and small groups who have affirmed their commitment to full inclusion of people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expression within the life and ministries of the church. FUMC is one of the first congregations in South Jersey to join this growing organization of over 950 United Methodist communities to date.
A community celebration will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. All are invited and welcome to attend the service in the church sanctuary, 446 Camden Avenue, Moorestown, NJ, 08057. A reception with refreshments will follow.
Sharing the message this first “Reconciling Sunday” will be Dr. Marvin A. Marsh, retired American Baptist Church pastor and previous director of the national Neighborhood Action Program. Dr. Marsh has been involved in ABC Concerned, CBC Concerned and the Rainbow Alliance for over three decades.
